Desroches Island

Desroches Resort is an island of unrivalled privacy set on a real castaway location 50 degrees south of the equator with 14km of immaculate white sand beaches. Unique as a game fishing and dive destination the accommodation offers privacy and access to fauna and flora that has remained untouched since its discovery in the 1500s.

Situated 230km South-West of Mahe´ Seychelles. Daily scheduled flights of approximately 40 minutes or a private charter flight link the resort island to the international airport.

Weather

Desroches Island is fortunate to be situated outside of the cyclone belt. The climate is healthy, with predictable and constant weather patterns.

The hottest months March and April with the south-east trade winds blowing from May to October. Here temperatures are slightly lower and the atmosphere somewhat less humid. The warmest and wettest months are during the north-west monsoon from December to March where the humidity can averaging around 65%.

Diving

With no less than 14 classified dive sites they include caves, swim-throughs, columns and the world-renowned drop-off. Dive courses are offered in English and French and the island is well known for its snorkelling reefs with guided tours to sites named “The Aquarium”, “Madam Zabre” and “Bombay Beach”.

Angling

Fly-fishing is a favourite in the lagoons for Bonefish and-and inner reefs offer up the right sport in preparation for a trip to the deep for sailfish on the more massive class tackle. Their gallery is a testament to a brilliant array of species that include: Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Dogtooth Tuna, Dorado, Kingfish, Bluefin Trevally, Grouper and Jobfish.

As a real treat take a day trip to the islands of Poivre and St Josephs as they are well known to some of the most untouched in the angling and fly fishing world.
