MAURITIUS
Mauritius is a small tropical island situated in the turquoise southwest Indian Ocean. Mauritius measures 67 km ( 42 miles) in length and 46 km ( 29 miles ) at its widest point. With an area of approximately 1860 square kilometers ( 730 sq miles ), the size of Mauritius equals about that of the English county of Surrey or South Africa’s Cape Peninsula and False Bay.

Mauritius includes as a political entity also the small island of Rodrigues, which is located some 563 km ( 350 miles ) to the east of Mauritius, as well as the Cargados Carajos Archipelago ( St Brandon ) and the two Agalega islands.

The warm tropical climate all year round, the rich green emerald Indian Ocean combined with the beautiful sandy beaches with the equally warm people whose friendliness is legendary have made Mauritius one of the most popular Indian Ocean holiday destination.

SEYCHELLES
The Seychelles situated in the Indian Ocean offers a holiday experience as unique as it is varied, drawing on the amazing diversity of 115 pristine tropical islands. The Seychelles is an ideal destination for today’s discerning travelers seeking a tranquil yet vibrant destination, unspoiled by commercialism. The granitic islands of the Seychelles, which are the only mid-oceanic granite islands in the world, lie between 4 – 10 degrees south of the equator and 1000 miles off the east Africa coast. Together with other islands of coral formation, the Seychelles consists of 115 magnificent tropical islands of truly striking beauty, spread like gemstones across more than a million miles of ocean.

MALDIVES
To the visitors, the Maldives evoke dreams of leaning palm trees, calm turquoise seas, shallow lagoons, endless sandy beaches and magnificent beach hotels and resorts providing a paradise for water sports and diving. The islands’ main attractions lie beneath the surface of the warm waters that lap the beautiful beaches of the Maldives. The coral reefs of Maldives are considered by many experts as some of the best in the world and are certainly comparable to the beauty and color of the Red Sea and to the variety of marine life of the Great Barrier Reef.

MOCAMBIQUE
Mozambique offers the travelers an exciting and diverse blend of different cultures: the Portuguese outposts, the Mwenu Mutapa Kingdom, and the Mozambique Island provide a great insight of the different influences seen in Mozambique. Arabic dhows and modern speedboats can be observed on the turquoise blue Indian Ocean water where the scuba diving excursions rival the world’s best.

The Gorongose National Park, Maputo Elephant Reserve, Bazaruto National Park and the Niassa Reserve are in the process of being rehabilitated. Tropical island getaways like Magaruque, Benguerra and Bazaruto provide seclusion, tranquility, and luxury accommodation in lodges, hotels and resorts. Excellent diving, fishing as well as bird watching areas can be found here.

Whether the visitor to Mozambique is visiting the endless sandy beaches or the fantastic diving sites, one will discover a country filled with different sights and soothing sounds of Africa.
